Beeping sound on galaxy earbuds Bluetooth connected to iPhone xr

When my galaxy earbuds are Bluetooth connected to the iPhone XR, every time I switch apps and start typing I hear these two loud beeps. It happens in the same app as well such as in YouTube when I close one video and I start typing in the search bar. This does not happen when the galaxy buds are connected to my Samsung galaxy s8 or s10. I tried installing the latest iOS update and hardbooting the iPhone and toggling the Bluetooth on and off but the beeping still hasn’t stopped.

Hi,

Thanks for your response, I did the following but the problem still persists.

  1. Is this accompanied by any alert or error message on your iPhone? smudarth: NO
  2. Is there another pair of headphones you can test with your iPhone and if so, does this only occur with these headphones specifically? smudarth: I tested it with Apple airpods and with Sony bluetooth headset but neither give the two loud beeps that I get when using the samsung galaxy earbuds. I also used the galaxy earbuds with my samsung phone as mentioned with no such issues.
  3. Try disabling system haptics, then test to see if this still occurs. Have a look at Change iPhone sounds and vibrations for details. smudarth: I disabled haptics but the two loud beeps still happen on the samsung galaxy earbuds
  4. We also recommend using the guidance from If your headphones don't work with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch which can help with many headphones issues. smudarth: I am hearing the sounds just fine on my galaxy earbuds so this is not applicable to my situation

I have seen atleast one more post about this in my google searches and they had mentioned about turning the phone off and on again but that did not work for me. Any other suggestion is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Sujeet

This happens to me ever since iOS 14 was installed (mainly on my Anker soundcore and another small cheap Bluetooth device). It is insanely loud and startling, possibly even damaging to ones hearing. Any time I begin typing in any application, when paired with non-Apple Bluetooth devices, this obnoxious, 100+ decibel beep happens. It is frighteningly loud - louder than the max volume beep that is so terrible.

This never happened before iOS 14 (and I am fully up to date - 14.4). I see lots of posts about it on Google, but it’s always ignored, shrugged off as a 3rd party device bug; many of the posts just seem to disappear. There’s no way Apple is not aware of this by now and I am getting very suspicious it’s another trick to drive up in house sales.

Just have a look via google search, with this phrase:

site:discussions.apple.com Bluetooth loud beep typing

when (if ever) will this bug be addressed in an iOS software update?

Sujeet,

We recommend reaching out to the headphones manufacturer next to make sure that your headphones support iOS and for further assistance such as a firmware update. Check your paperwork or packaging that came with your headphones for contact information. We did find the following Samsung Support but if you have direct information in one of the other sources we mentioned, that might be best.

If it is determined that your earbuds are compatible and up-to-date, reach out to Apple Support for further assistance. You can reach out from Get Support.

Thanks!
