iPhone 12 Pro Max gets hot while using 20w fast charger

I have recently got the iPhone 12 Pro Max, and found out it doesn’t charge using the old charger, so I purchased the apple 20W fast charger. My phone seems to get quite hot while charging. Is this normal?
