why does Big Sur keep hiding volume control in menu bar?

With each startup (I think that's the correlation), the sound control I toggle on in the menu bar disappears.

I know--deeply distressing issue.

But solutions?

Big Sur 11.2.3 – no more sound devices in the menu bar Apparently my Mac updated overnight to macOS 11.2.3 and since this morning I can't access most (virtual) sound devices through the menu bar. That arguably being quite an okay cleanup, I also can't access my input devices with alt+clicking the speaker symbol in the menu bar, which bothers me a lot. Is there any .plist file or setting I can change to have it back as it was before? Thanks!

Touch Bar less responsive on Big Sur I recently upgraded to Big Sur and now the Touch Bar on my 16in MBP sees slow and non responsive. I can usually get it to just things like volume but it sees like I have to double tap or press harder.

Try the usual: reset NVRAM and SMC.
