"this monitor does not support hdr playback" error message.

My external monitor doesn't support HDR, how do I turn off the setting that prioritizes sending HDR to the monitor?

We are on satelite internet, which means that our speed (especially around peak times) is terrible, and not adequate to stream videos. We rented a movie on the apple TV+ app, and downloaded it overnight in order to be able to watch it without lag and in good quality. But when we tried to play it via our projector, we received the above error message. We spent quite a while trying to firgure out a work around, but couldn't find anything.

Surely there's an easy way to turn off sending HDR? Surely Apple is smart enough to realize that most people don't have a new monitor, and it should just send the video signal in whatever way the monitor can support.

Absolutely not pleased with Apple.

How do I prevent this in future?
