How do we get flags to show up in our mailbox in Mail?

It seems in the new OS Big Sur 11.1, if I mark an email as flagged, I cannot find a way to have the flag show up in my larger mailbox. I use flags to note an email I need to attend to, or perhaps wish to look at later. And if the flag doesn't show except after I've opened that mail, it is useless to me.

There used to be a column for showing flags, when one looks at the whole list of the Inbox, or other Box.

I can't find this info anywhere! So much less useful without its own column!

In macOS 11.1, Mail no longer offers flags displayed in their own column to the left of the individual messages. Instead, the flag is now positioned right-justified on the opened message's subject line, or in miniature, in the same location on the individual message items in their column. There is no fix to change this styling away from functionality.

You may want to add the Flagged inbox to you Favorites. Hover your mouse over Favorites, click the plus icon and select the Flagged inbox.

Same happend to me just now.

Try restarting the mac. It worked for me.

Thanks - Yes, I know how to put a flag on an individual mail.

But I can't make the columns *show* the flags on the list of emails, when I view all of them in a full page view, which is how I look at my inbox. I have not been able to find a way to add that column.

There also does not seem to be a column which shows attachments.

Both of these would be so useful!

And were always available before.

Thank you. You have responded to my concern. However, if Apple monitors these comments, I wish to advocate for a return to showing flags and attachment icons in the Inbox. Both are very helpful, and I respectfully request and hope that you prepare a fix.

In Big Sur - Mail >> check in the Tool Bar at Top of Mail for the different Tools including Flags.

I recently downloaded Big Sur 11.1 onto my MacBook. Since then I cannot get flags or attachment icons to appear in my inbox in the Mail app. Can you tell me how I can have them show?

Yes, I have that. That gives me a folder with all flagged messages. What I'm looking for is to have the flags appear in my inbox, as they used to.
