Looks like no one’s replied in a while. To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question.

Siri cuts off before you can ask any question

Why does Siri cut off before you can ask any question. Holding the power button is not acceptable and not what I expect in an $1100 iPhone 12 Pro Max. Apparently Apple does not care about Siri or they would get a fix for this.

Apple: How about doing a change of policy: Fix what does not work instead of giving us useless Handwashing apps. Siri is a disgrace as a personal assistant.

Have any of you found a solution to this Siri dilemma other than Alexa?

Hello Jerry L. Anderson,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities!

We understand that Siri cuts off before you can ask any question. We're happy to help!

Have you restarted your phone since this started happening with Siri?

Restart your iPhone

I also would make sure that your iOS software is up to date.

Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Try disabling Siri, restart your device and then turn Siri back on.

Settings > Siri & Search - turn off Hey Siri.

Restart.

Turn Siri back on.

I also recommend the section titled Test the microphone on your device in the article below to ensure there isn't anything going on with the microphones.

If the microphones on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch aren't working

Let us know if that resolves this issue for you.

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities.

Take care.
