NFC not working

my Apple Pay keeps saying hold near reader and after ordering NFC tags I can’t write or read them. Well another iPhone is able to write en read the same tags. Can it be software related or do I need to replace hardware? If so what parts do I need? Or how expensive might it be?

Apple Pay works but phone won’t scan an NFC (freestyle libre - medical device) I use my phone as a medical device to check my blood sugars (diabetes) - the Freestyle libre device uses NFC - I scan it and it tells me my blood sugars. I’ve used my phone (iPhone SE) for this for over a year with no ottomans but the other day it suddenly just won’t scan. The sensors work as I’ve used a separate reader to check them. I’ve restarted my phone, deleted and reinstalled the app, cleared the data and even fully wiped and rebooted my phone and it still doesn’t work. if the NFC is broken (I’ve tried it in something else too and it doesn’t read) why does apple pay still work in the shops???

NFC stopped working on SE 2020 My NFC capability suddenly stopped working and I can’t find a way to troubleshoot it. It worked fine for a year previously (Apple Pay and Freestyle Libre for blood sugars). It happened overnight while lying on a table (it wasn’t acute physical damage) and was before the most recent iOS 14 update (I updated it the next day after noticing the NFC wasn’t working). I tested Apple Pay at 2 different stores. I hard rebooted the phone a couple times, signed out and back into my Apple ID, and reinstalled the Libre app. No dice. Is it likely hardware?
