iCloud storage on iPhone error "unable to load Storage info" and impossible to do iCloud backup

Hello! The problem started first when I upgraded iOS from 13.something to 14.2 on my iPhone 8

That iOS update made my iPhone 8 freeze and very unstable.

In several days I bought a new iPhone 12 Pro. I transferred data from iPhone 8 to a new one directly during the first setup.


Now iPhone 12 Pro works fine but it clearly has some problems with my Apple ID and iCloud:

  1. it has never backed up - I tried several times and it just keeps on hanging for hours...
  2. it consistently asks to update Apple ID Settings so "Some account services will not be available until you sign in again" - I did several times but it keeps throwing an error "Verification failed. An unknown error occurred".
  3. My Apple Music does not download...


I have a suspicion that during that update from iOS 13 to iOS 14.2 on my old iPhone some "old cache" remained and now I have this castrated access to iCloud and Apple ID services.


Please help.

I tried everything from what you proposed.

Now I have signed out from my Apple ID on my iPhone.

And I can't sign in back. Login and password are correct.

Some quick error jumps out (I even can't manage to read it so quickly) and bounces me back to a login prompt.


I will call to Apple support tomorrow morning. This is the last thing I can do. And this frustrates a lot. Last iOS updates are pure ****.
