I caught a stranger spying on me through my iPhone 7 camera last night. It was terrifying. I was browsing via Safari at the time & I didn’t even have my camera open. I thought that vulnerability had been plugged by Apple but apparently not.
Has anyone else experienced this recently? .

Seriously.....it's just a pop-up with a video in it.
If it happens again, stick with it. A request for money or for you to submit your Apple ID details, or bank details will surely feature sooner rather than later!
as I was browsing the internet alone, just newspaper articles, it suddenly switched by itself to camera mode as if I’d opened the camera app & was about to take a photo & there was an African looking man there. He was moving as if to be adjusting his webcam & staring height into it. It then switched to a photo still of a woman in a short dress & the words ‘hi my name is abothe ’ written or some such name. I panicked & switched my phone off.
How were you able to come to the conclusion that a stranger from the internet was watching your from your front camera? Just asking to understand your experience better.

That’s a relief, thanks. I thought for a moment after it might be a pop up but it seemed so real with the outline looking like the camera screen.
