Catalina 10.15.4 update + Slow Contacts App performance

Ever since my Catalina 10.15.4 update a few weeks ago on my iMac (27-inch, Late 2013), my Contacts App has been incredibly slow and unresponsive. The pinwheel pops up often. I have noted the 200+ comments triggered by a previous enquiry and unless I have missed something, this remains an outstanding problem? I have the same Catalina OS on my MacBook Air 13" and the Contacts App works perfectly well

Can anyone out there offer me a solution please?

macOS 10.15.4 is seven months out of date. Update it. To learn how to do that please read How to update the software on your Mac - Apple Support. It may not fix the Contacts app problem but keeping macOS updated is fundamental.
