mac contacts app has stopped working

Is anybody else having problems with the Mac Contacts App? Since the last Big Sur update, Contacts has stopped working. It loads, as in I see the top menu bar, but no screen appears. I've re-loaded Big Sur, the same result.  Techy bit: 2013 MacBook Pro running Big Sur 11.1 Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks for reaching out in Apple Support Communities! If we understand correctly, you're having trouble with the Contacts app opening on your Mac after updating to Big Sur. We want to get things working smoothly again!


Have you tried restarting your Mac since noticing the issue with your Contacts app? If not, we recommend starting with a restart first.


Log out, sleep, wake, restart or shut down your Mac - Apple Support


If this persists, you can boot your Mac in safe mode to help isolate possible start up issues and test if the app starts loading as expected. If it loads okay, restart your Mac once more and test again.
