cant create new contacts on MacOS BIG Sur 11.4

when i try to create new contacts - the window simply closes - after 3-5 seconds - and doesnt save the details

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 11.4

Another workaround not fix - go www.icloud.com >> Log in using Apple ID and Contacts in iCloud and create the new contacts and it should sync back to computer

Set up iCloud on all your devices

Temporary workaround and not a fix - perform this New Contact on an iPad for iPhone and it will sync back to laptop.
