Cant create contacts in MacOS.

When I create a Contact using Mac OS (Big Sur) I try to add in Names, Surnames Telephone numbers- but as I try to select the new field after filling in the line- Contacts throws me out of the new contact to be created and shows a random other contact. Have tried filling in various fields and it does the same. Thus can't create new contacts there. Am Able to create them using iOS and it syncs the changes fine with the Contacts in the IMac.

Any Help? Have others experienced this too?

Open Contacts - Preferences
Click Accounts tab at top
Select Google on left side of pane and uncheck the Enable this Account box.
Close Preferences and test
