I have a new M1 MacBook Air. When the Mac goes to sleep, after waking it by pressing a key, the built in display remains off.
If at this point I close the lid for a brief time, like 1 second, then open it, the mac wakes up as expected.
I booted the Mac in to recovery and the problem persists there, which makes me think it is not an OS issue but hardware related. It seems this unit does not have any SMC or PRAM to reset?
Ideas?
I Have reported it. However I have found a workaround.
In the battery settings, untick "put hard disk to sleep when possible"
Also do this when on adaptor.
Initial testing it seems to work. Need to check it some more though.

I have found if I press the escape key twice, it wakes up. Very strange. Can you try the same please?
