duplicated contacts now 175 thousand contacts :) I have only in all 945 contacts

This Issue last since March 2020 after visiting Microsoft store In ny where I bought a Business outlook 365 for Mac ( I have a MacBookpro Oscatalina 10.15 7 version) I had Entourage ( excellent product but nor profitable for Ms) so they let go and came back to outlook so I had outlook 2011 , then 2016 then when the merge my 2016 they also merged my 2011 and also some merged pre 2011 contacts folder that I had "on my computer" then I subscribed to exchange ( mega mistake ) even if I erase 50000 duplicated contacts they actually do comeback 3 or 4 days later .I definitely think that to come from exchange (as all my other contacts folders "in my computer" are unchecked . I also checked Icloud only 54 contacts duplicated out of 745 base contacts problem is that since I have my exchange account all my New clients contact are created on my domain name on my outlook and also synchronized in exchange ( sometime 357 time same name ) I think it would be relatively a basic program from MS to keep the best update contacts by name , address last updated , cell last updated ,work phone update d, but no it is that no engineer cannot do a 1001 ******* some few program line >ms do not do a transfer from data from a Mac to a PC then clean the duplicated contacts put back the cleaned base on my Mac .they simply do not do taht you are on your own .Definitely now going to buy any more MS product

A few more thoughts:

Does This Occur on Another Device?:

Have you tried this on another device (computer or mobile device)? If not, the do so. See if it is any different.

As for Exporting all of this...

A. Try Creating a New User.

If this works in the new user, then it is something misconfigured in your current user.

B. Try this in Safe Mode:

  1. Shut Down: the Mac
  2. Wait: 30 seconds
  3. Power Up: the Mac
  4. Hold Down: shift key when you hear the boot chime.
  5. Proceed with the login

About Safe Mode:

In Safe Mode, login items do not load upon boot, and damaged files (i.e. caches) are rid of and fixed, if existent.

C. Reinstall the macOS:

As for fixing all of this issue on this Mac, you may need to reinstall the macOS. Reinstalling the macOS will place moved items back to where they should be, and will replace damaged system files.

1. First, Back up your Mac:

Create a Time Machine backup of your Mac, so that you can have something to restore your Mac from, should anything go wrong with the reinstall. Use an external Hard Drive of at least 1.5 times the size of your internal hard drive.

2. Then, Reinstall the macOS:

Nothing would be deleted. It's just that items that have become corrupted or deleted, would be replaced or reinstalled back to where they should be. Go Here: How to reinstall macOS from macOS Recovery - Apple Support

Or...

Use a New App Password for Hotmail:

See if things need to sync correctly.

While in Hotmail, Go To:

  1. User Name(Top-Right)
  2. View account (Second Option Down)
  3. Security (third tap in from top-left)
  4. More security options (Far-Right)
  5. App passwords (Third Pane Down)
  6. Create a new app password
  7. Click Done
  8. Use the app password provided for a synchronized app

Seems to be a Glitch:

Contact Microsoft about all of this. They are the developers of the software.

Seems like a glitch in the Office purchase. So, ask Microsoft for a new license key. Inform them of what happened. Ask for which uninstaller to use.

How to Contact Microsoft:

Start here, with the Virtual Support Agent. Start a chat with a rep, asking them where this all stands.

Ask this in the Microsoft Community:

Go Here: https://answers.microsoft.com. It's the same idea as using these forums - But it is for Microsoft users. Ask how to find duplicates and how to delete them by the thousands.

Where to Ask: Microsoft 365 and Office - Microsoft Community

New eMail Account:

So, do these contacts show up only on your computer? Or do they show up on your eMail account when you log in to it? I guess the ultimate solution would simply be to just create a new eMail account. and remember what contacts you have created. What I would do is export all of the eMails (not contacts), open a new eMail account, and then add these eMails back.

Correct. It is a glitch - So, contact Go Daddy and see what they have to say.

A Link to Try:

  1. Try this Link: Resolve or delete duplicate contacts - Microsoft Support
  2. Scroll to: Delete a large number of duplicate contacts by using export and import
  3. Proceed from there as necessary.
