Apple TV 4K, no volume control from remote.

Hi guys.

I have a Blaupunkt BP5500AU7000 with an aftermarket remote as my dog chewed my original one. I picked up my new appletv4k the other week and I’m struggling to configure the volume control with the set up with the aftermarket remote as the Apple TV doesn’t pick up the signal from me pressing the volume +/-. Is there any other way I could work this or would it just be easier to buy a speaker/soundbar set up and configuring that way.

if that’s the case is there any anyone could recommend for decent ish sound quality for under $400-500 aud?

thanks in advance.

Recommend charging Siri remote, installing and setting up iDevice remote app, unpairing Siri remote, power cycle ATV (unplug for a minute), pair Siri remote.

Not sure if it’s related but it seems like a good time to verify the HDMI cable is fully seated in the ATV and TV.

Sorry I should’ve made that more clear. The dog eating the remote is relatively irrelevant. I only mentioned that incase it had something to do with the new remote not being original.

the atv remote is fine in itself but can’t adjust volume. I’ve attempted to set it up with the Apple TV config tool (sorry I can’t remember what it was called) and I tried using it normally and then close to the ir ports and it doesn’t pick up anything.

thanks for your reply
