My MacBook Air No Longer has option for Airplay

Hello,

My MacBook Air no longer has the option for Airplay. The icon used to be on the top bar, after update it no longer appears. I have tried to correct this issue with what I have read on the forum but it only gives me the off option. (see image below)

Please Help me fix this I really need to have the Airplay working.

follow these steps:

  1. Even though you just updated the computer, make sure it is updated to the most recent update. Also, make sure that your smart tv is updated.
  2. check the firewall settings in your mac, go to Settings > Security & Privacy > Firewall > Firewall Options, then make sure "automatically allow signed software to receive incoming connections" is Marked on.
  3. also when you air play from your iPad, are you air playing to the tv or from mac to ipad.

also, what is the model number of the tv?

to connect your Mac to iPad (sidecar) make sure you meet requirements. follow instructions here to do so https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT210380#systemrequirements

for the mac to tv, make sure the Smart tv, or apple tv, are up to date. if using smart tv make sure the smart tv is updated and the apple tv app is updated. also, make sure that airplay is turned on in the tv menu/setting. to isolate the problem see if the iPad can connect to the tv. also make sure the tv is on and nearby.
