use homepod mini as audio conference

Can the homepod mini's be used as an audio conference device (speakerphone like the Plantronics USB ones) when connected via airplay from a Mac.

This would make the homepod mini even more useful given the work from home situation we all find ourselves in with Microsoft Teams, Zoom or Webex as web conferencing apps on the Mac.

Thanks Vancouver22 - but I am hoping Apple either:

  1. makes the airpod mini available as an audio option under preferences
  2. or open it up and make it accessible via bluetooth so we have more connectivity options

Here is why I say the same - this product seems to be targetted towards a music player room filling kinda usage - but it has excellent duplex audio capabilities allowing for conversations to be had and especially with everyone working from home - the connectivity to ones mac natively as opposed to app centric model right now (apple tv and music app recognize it but you nowhere else can you see the mini listed thus shunting its usability).

Come on Apple - Git to it!!!
