My MacBook Password

Every since I updated my Macbook Pro to Big Sur I have had nurmerous issues. Currently, I am able to log into my macbook with my password, however, when I need to update or make changes to my computer it tells me my password is incorrrect. I am confused by this due to I have not changed my password and my MacBook password allows me to log in but not make changes. This all started after downloading the Big Sur update - any suggestions?

Check to make sure that your Log-in ID is still set to Administrator.

You can find this in Settings / Users & Groups / Your User ID.

There will be a check box to: "allow user to administer this computer"
