I just tried to enter the password I have always had used for my Mac and now it's telling it's not correct. This just happened after upgrading to Big Sur.
How do I fix it or change the password?

Try resetting the SMC.
Are you using the password associated with the account you are logging in to.
It is not the AppleID password.

Thank you for this. I can't recall but I ended up not having to do this (was getting ready to) but I ended up doing something and it fixed it.
