Iphone 11 display module defective?

My Iphone 11 touchscreen completely stopped responding

yesterday. No cracks or damage to the screen just stopped midday sitting on my

desk and now acts like my finger isn’t there. I noticed Apple started an iPhone

11 Display Module Replacement Program for Touch Issues, but even though mine

was bought 12/2/2019 and made during the covered period Apple said, “my phone is

not included in the covered batch.” Since I am 29 days over my one-year

warranty I need to pay for the repair. Classic 2020 move.

Are there any other people out there with a similar issue? I

think if they realize this is a larger issue, they will expand their covered

batches. Thanks!
