Difficulty Pairing 3rd Party Earbuds with iphone 12 Pro

Recently got an iPhone 12 pro and have been unable to connect (Bluetooth) to a pair of 3rd-party earbuds (Louis Vuitton-branded version of the Master & Dynamic MW07 Plus). Before getting my iPhone 12 Pro, I was using the earbuds with my iPhone 11 Pro with no issues at all whatsoever regarding connectivity. The iPhone 12 has had no issues connecting to my Powerbeats Pro Wireless headphones.

Has anyone with an iPhone 12 Pro had any problems connecting to a 3rd-party’s headphones/earbuds/audio accessory? Thanks, Scott

Hello sWoopSF,

Congrats on your new iPhone 12 Pro. We know that you want to use your earbuds with the phone but have been unable to pair them.

To start, make sure that your iPhone is fully updated. (iOS 14.3): Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

Next, do the following:

  1. Turn Bluetooth "Off" then back "On" in Settings > Bluetooth, and try pairing again.
  2. Make sure the earbuds are in pairing mode and reset if possible.
  3. Update the firmware of the earbuds.
  4. Rename the iOS device in Settings > General > About > Name

Also, check the troubleshooting here: If you can't connect a Bluetooth accessory to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

If you have more issues, check with the manufacturer to see if the device needs an update to work with iOS 14 or the iPhone 12 Pro.

Take care.
