Intercom not playing through my iPhone 11 speaker
Intercom works fine on my iPhone 8 but messages received on my iPhone 11 will not play through the speaker. Is anyone else having this problem? Any solutions out there?

Thank you for the clarification. It sounds like it is not your iPhone speaker but the HomePod speaker with the intercom feature that your iPhone is not playing to. You can try some additional troubleshooting steps:

The speaker works fine. I often use it as a speakerphone option for phone calls. It also works for listening to phone messages where I am given the option to select speaker mode for message playback.
This problem is specifically related to the intercom app. Have you used it? When I use it on my iPhone 8, there is no option to choose speaker mode for listening to intercom messages (as there is for message playback) it simply plays through my speaker automatically. On the 11, however, the sound does not play through the speaker.
In summary, the speaker works fine with other apps, I have verified that it's not a Bluetooth issue, and restarting the phone did not solve the problem.

It's a great feature when it works as advertised.
