Hello friends, My MacBook Pro System is taking about 78 GB space. Almost 1/3rd of total storage (251 GB). Any idea how to fix this? Using macOS High Sierra, version 10.13.6 MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Late 2013). Processor is 2.4 GHz Intel Core i5. Memory is 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3. Startup Disk is Macintosh HD. It looks like System is taking up a larger than expected amount of space on your MacBook Pro.
"System" storage on your Mac is simply files that don't fall into other categories on your device, along with some core integral system files. This could be anything from photos or videos not in their appropriate folders or with an unrecognized file type, to iOS backups to data moved over from older computers. In all cases it would be your data taking up the space.
