Apple ID

I purchased an IPad for my elderly Mother. She lives 3 hours away. I am going to use it over the internet for facetime and messaging for her, to help with the isolation during the pandemic.

I have an IPhone and my own IPad. My 2 devices plus this new device are on the same Apple ID.

I want to create a different email for my Moms IPad, and do not know how to do it. We purchased the IPad from Verizon.

You can create a new Apple ID using the steps in the articles below.

Apple ID - create a new.

Apple ID – Create

Apple ID - Could Not Create or Could Not Set Up iCloud message.

Since her iPad is now on your Apple ID, I suggest you reset the iPad as new using the steps in the article below. Then sign into the iPad using her Apple ID.

Thank you Eric for the reply. I had been looking at the reset option to remove the Apple ID, but there are some warnings about the phone number, sim card, etc., as we have a new phone number for my Mom's new IPad. So I am not sure what will happen with the phone number.

I use a PC and am leaning more about the Apple system through this adventure. I can see the pluses in the Apple ID where every device under the same ID is connected. Separating them after the fact, in my situation, is challenging. This is forcing me to learn about the ICloud, ITunes, etc. I am going to try to get with the Verizon store and see if they can help. If not, then the Apple store. And that is not easy with the pandemic.

Again, thanks for your reply.
