Numbers Program

I have a spreadsheet with about 5 columns. I am easily able to sort by one column. When I try to add a 2nd column as a sub-sort, nothing happens. It seems like it should be very straightforward. What am I missing? Thanks.

numbers sorting I am sorting a column with cells formatted as numbers with both 12 digit numbers and 13 digit numbers. When I sort the column in ascending order, the sort is only going by the first few digits in each number thus placing many 13 digit numbers before the 12 digit numbers. The the larger values (13 digit numbers) should be towards the bottom of the column. Here is a screenshot of a few lines of my ascending order. Thanks for your time and support!

Sorting selected cells hi simple question but I didn't find the correct way to do that :-) In excel, I can select cells and sort the selected cell. In numbers, it seems that I can not do this. It will sort the entire row, even if I only select columns from A to E for example. Is there a way to do this? For me it seems something so basic but I didn't find it :-) many thx

Open the Sort and Filter Inspector.

Set up a Sort like this one:

Table above has been resorted to its original order (column A)

When you click a cell to activate the table, then click Sort Now, the table is sorted following the instructions in the Inspector.
