Adding family member to homepod

I have set up my Homepod on my iPhone. I have invited my wife and she has agreed. Now I want to add the Homepod to her Home app. The Homepod is not recognizing her phone when I hold it close to the Homepod.

What do to get the Homepod to see her iPhone?
