Rotating tables in Pages 10.1

What happened to the layout-type pages that Pages used to have?

I make calendars and forms for my organizers and have many saved documents that have tables that were created with Numbers, copied, pasted into a Layout Document in Pages -- and some of those tables are rotated in the Layout Document to make things print properly.

Any suggestions as to how I can use and print saved documents with rotated tables?

Is there any way to make new documents with rotated tables?

Any suggestions as to other software I could buy that will do what I need it to do? (Sigh, I miss AppleWorks)

You can rotate tables in Pages '09 v4.3 layout mode with the Metrics inspector panel, but not in any version of Pages v5 thru v10.3.5, as they are entirely different application code and document formats. Opening a Pages '09 v4.3 Layout mode document in Pages v10.1 or later results in a warning dialog that rotated tables are not supported and rotation will be removed.

Unless this feature has been added to the current version of Pages, Tables cannot be rotated.

But Images of Tables can be.

If your Table in Pages is static, take a screen shot of it, or Copy it then use Preview to create a New from Clipboard document, rotate the PDF in preview and Save and save it as a PDF.

Insert either type of image in your Pages document and rotate it as necessary.

Barry
