2009 upgraded iMac not getting past the boot screen

It just carries on trying to boot from the start up disc, doesn't give me the option of disk utility or reintalling MacOS. Then it stops, the progress bar doesn't move and I have to restart everything and try again

No it's a wired one, might try taking it out and using in a different USB port, atm I'd try anything to get it working. It's strange that it recognises when I use alt (option) to select the start up but won't see when I use CMD + R

Tried both sides and nothing, but both option buttons work fine as I’ve managed to select the other boot drives, it’s just not getting past this stage now, and that’s on all 3 different drives to boot from

Wired one worked and I've managed to get the recovery sorted and now using a totally new set up, I think it's the SSD that's got an error on it as it won't even let me first aid it properly, lucky that I've got an extra HHD inside the machine. Thanks for your help with this!

This is what I get when I go into the recovery drive via the option key and then it gets stuck here unable to find the mouse

I thought I had one but the wife has just popped out shopping so is gonna grab me one, hopefully that might help. I’ll let you know as soon as I’ve got it.
