e-mail

My husband and I have two older iPhones. My husband sends pics to our e-mail using the texting. My daughter recently got an 11 and signed into our apple store using my apple ID acct while setting it up. Now when he tries to send a pic to our e-mail it goes to the new phone. How can I stop those messages from going to her phone?

TIA I'm not super tech savy so this is very frustrating.

Having separate Apple IDs is 'normal'. It prevents your data from being shared like you are seeing now. You can set up Family Sharing to share purchases.

If 13 years old or older.

Apple ID - create a new.

Apple ID – Create

If under 13 years old, you will need to set up Family Sharing to create an ID.

Family Sharing and Apple ID for your child.

Family Sharing.

Family Sharing - Set up.

When changing to the new ID, there may be some data loss, but you can minimize it. If syncing photos with iCloud, ensure Optimization is turned off in Settings/Your Name/iCloud/Photos and/or in Photos/Preferences/iCloud. Then make sure full resolution photos are on the device/computer. When signing out of iCloud, if asked whether you want to retain data, choose yes. Messages conversations will be lost if they are addressed to the ID. See the article below for other places that the old ID should be removed. See Winston Churchill's response in the below discussion. Also set up Family Sharing between the IDs to keep access to your apps/purchases.

Set up - your child’s iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

How to switch Apple IDs on your iPhone or iPad.

Hey there IamPorter,

We can understand the concern of having the emails going to the new iPhone, and we're happy to help you with this. You will need to sign your daughter's iPhone 11 out of your Apple ID. This will stop those messages from going to that device. On the iPhone 11, go to Settings > tap the name at the top (the Apple ID), and tap Sign Out. She will need to sign in with her own Apple ID, and the steps to do so can be found here:

Sign in with your Apple ID
