best Remote Desktop app Mac>Mac?

I have an elderly dad who im needing to help with his Mac quite a bit recently - seeing as though we're now in lockdown its proving quite hard, and I was wondering if there's a free Remote Desktop app that would allow me to control his Mac remotely from mine?

Remote Desktop Support I have an elderly mother who owns a Mac computer and lives in another city. I'd like to help her with computer related tasks by viewing and, ideally, controlling her computer screen remotely (over the Internet). For every non-Apple computer system I've every used, this has been a trivial task, but I've been unable to do it under MacOS. The obvious answer is to switch to Windows or Linux, which I, and everyone I know, is indeed planning on doing. However, it's not a great option in the near term for her, since she's in her 90's and has some memory problems, so probably won't learn a new OS that fast. I'm aware that Apple sells a product called Apple Remote Desktop for $79.99. However, from what I gather, it's too unreliable and buggy to use. Can someone suggest a software program, or programs, I can use for remote access to my mother's computer? Ideally, it will not have monthly charges, and it would be cross-platform, so we can all continue using it after discarding Apple technology.

Apple Remote Desktop Hi! I am hoping someone can help me with some advice about Apple Remote Desktop please. My parents both have Macs, and although their computers are easy to use, they get into a pickle with them from time to time. They call on me for help, but I live 800 km away, and it's a bit of a nightmare trying to discuss each step over the phone. I am looking for a product that will enable me to remotely access their computers, so that I can fix things when they go wrong. I need to see their desktops and be able to control them temporarily. It seems that Apple Remote Desktop would enable me to do this, but only if we are on the same network. Is that correct? If Apple Remote Desktop isn't the right product, would you recommend any others that are safe and easy to use?

Remote Desktop alternatives? Back To My Mac was neat and cheap (free) solution, synced with your iCloud account. As of July 2019 we only have a quite expensive alternative for $79.99 (How to transition from Back to My Mac - Apple Support) for which the latests reviews are not good. Plus the link "Learn how to use Remote Desktop" from above website is broken at least for a month (404 Page Not Found). Does anybody know a trustworthy alternative that will work to reach your Mac behind NAT/firewall for macOS Monterey?

ive just discovered Teamviewer. That will do the job perfectly it seems :)
