iPhone 11 automatically edits lighting on photos

Everytime I take a pic on my camera app, I see the normal version as I take the picture, but when I open it in the photos app it suddenly edits the lighting of the picture, which I don’t like too much. Is there any way to get this automatic editing off? It’s also not the night mode feature as I have it turned off in the camera app.

Hi warrenbuffet66,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. We understand that you're having an issue with your photos on your iPhone 11. We'd like to help.

Just to confirm, are you noticing this issue on every photo or only when in a specific location or with certain lighting around you? Are you using Live Photos when taking a photo? If you turn that off, does it change the way your photos appear?

This resource can help you edit your photos as expected: Edit photos and videos on iPhone

Hope that helps!

Hi warrenbuffet66,

Thanks for keeping us updated!

Do you notice this issue in any other situation than when taking a photo in the mirror? Are you using the rear facing camera or the forward facing camera?

Which iOS are you running on your iPhone? Check to see if you have an update as this can help resolve issues with your iPhone: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Take care!
