Setting up iCloud mail using Gmail

Hello, I have an android phone and have for 2 years been using it to read both apple and google emails on one app. Suddenly in mid-december my iCloud information stopped working. I have deleted my account and now trying to reset it, however I cannot get Gmail to accept my password (using the one generated in the third party app setup). Nor am I sure that it is using the right port no -currently 993 os SSL/TLS.

Can anyone advise on what to do to re-establish my connection. I have also tried doing the set up on my MacBook air in my google account and it will not let me connect to apple/icloud there as well!
