Intermittent drop of internet
My iPhone and iPad drop internet connection unremittingly while my iMac does not. What is causing this issue?

My iPhone and iPad drop internet connection unremittingly while my iMac does not. What is causing this issue?
Where I was headed with my questions was to see if it only drops WiFi when the phone is locked. That would be normal, it’s a strategy to save battery energy. If it happens when you are actually using the phone I suggest starting with this Apple support link →Resolve Wi-Fi and Bluetooth issues caused by wireless interference - Apple Support.
Also verify that no two devices have the same IP Address (you can see this in Airport Utility).
Next, do you have the problem on both the 2.4 GHz band and the 5 GHz band, or haven’t you tested that yet?
And how close are the devices to the router?

I see I typed unremittingly when I meant intermittently. Anyway, they drop and then reconnect when I'm using them or trying to use them.. WiFi remains on according to Airport Utility, but whatever I'm on or attempting to load (ESPN, etc) stops working. If I wait a few minutes, the Internet is back on according to Airport Utility and I can once again make connection.
My iPhone is a X and my iPad is a fifth generation 32 gb.
They do not have the same IP Address. It has happened sitting near my router upstairs as well as when in the downstairs.
I have not tried the band check. I have an AirPort Extreme that selects automatically. I hesitate to interfere with the router for fear of causing even more problems.
When do they drop Internet, when using them, or when they are sleeping? Is it cellular data or Wi-Fi? What models are your devices?
