Nikon transfer 2 and iphone 6

Nikon transfer 2 recognizes iphone 6 on Apple MacBook Pro 13" Touch Bar (2019) 16GB/2TB 2,4GHz (ios catalina 10.15.7)

but is unable to show actual media of the iphone.

this is so sad as Nikon transfer 2 is a fantastic tool for importing media while having several options like creating subfolders, renaming files and importing only new files, eventual deletion of media on mobile device etc etc. (I used it during several years on my previous mac book pro)

someone any suggestion how to solve the problem ?

(please do not suggest apple photo loader as this is a very rudimentary utility without ability to rename for example)
