M1 Mac mini Display Artifacts

I also had/have some artifacts:

Had: the 12.2 update was really a mess. I ended up in a flickering display (with only noise as if you're TV is not connected well to a good signal). I finally did a hard restart after which the installation continued and I could see normal image on the screen...

Have: after putting the Mac mini M1 into sleep and waking it up after some time (a couple of hours) I have to resize my windows.

I have a monitor with 16 : 10 resolution, it many times awakens as if I have a 16 : 9 resolution monitor...

I read about fixes Apple would provide for extra widescreen resolutions, I hope they don't forget to support the 16 : 10 well.

How do you know I am NOT using a certified cable?

Big Sur is also developed for M1 (it's easy to write code to distinguish between Intel or M1 based Mac and consequently leave it behind on M1 based Mac's), but I don't think the sleep option is obsolete (some countries it's a MUST by law for environmental reasons)...

Yeah right and Apple developers can't fix this??

Give me the car keys but don't shut down the engine because otherwise you only can use 3 off 4 wheels other than activate the fourth wheel by yourself...

I am experiencing the very same issue with my 2020 M1 Mac mini and my 2010 20" Cinema Display. Have you figured it out how to solve it?

I am also experiencing the same issue with my Mac Mini M1. The same issue has also been mentioned on other websites and on YouTube. Is Apple aware of the issue????

Turning 'FileVault' off stops the issue for me.

Use a shorter cable (3 feet/1m or shorter) and disable sleep.

My cable is short and why offer a sleep function and don't use it??

Catalina on Intel based processor never had this problem...

Change the cable with one that's HDMI certified. The sleep function is a carryover from the days of the Fusion drive and earlier, n/a to the M1.

Sorry, that's NOT an option, I would call that a bad workaround/solution.

Alright, hard restart and resize the windows 4 times daily.
