Apple TV not working, Streaming services errors, Please help!

Hello All,

I have an Apple TV 4k and it has been acting weird. The first time I noticed something was a few months ago when I was binging Breaking Bad on Netflix. The resolution quality would go in and out but never completely stop. It would happen quite randomly though. It was not too unbearable and seemed to only happen on that App watching that show so I thought it had something to do with Netflix servers.

About a month ago, I bought a new ATV 4k for my bedroom. I set it up mirroring my apps on my original ATV. I then decided to restore the Original ATV back to factory settings, thinking maybe it would be a smart thing to do since I have had it for about 2 years now.

Now for the past 2 weeks I get error codes when I watch Netflix for a few minutes. IT also happens in the Starz app, HBO Max, Bravo, and a few others.

I have tried to hard line with ethernet (Speed Tested at 400+ mps) and used the wifi (Speed tested at 200+ mps) but still the same issue. I have tried different DNS addresses, IP addresses, other internet sources, (neighbors wifi). I even have logged onto my Vizio Smart TV's Netflix app and it works perfect. Even the new ATV in my bedroom works fine and they are never running at the same time.

I am going to attempt a restore again but if there is any other info on how to fix this issue please send it my way!

It appears that you're having a problem with your older Apple TV 4K. After restoring it to factory settings, you're getting an error message in Netflix when you try to play a show/movie. It also seems to be having problems with other streaming services as well, and we're glad to provide assistance.

Netflix Error -11800 -- Even though these steps are specific to Netflix, they could also help using the other streaming services. From the steps that they're providing, it may be a problem with your internet connection.

If you can't stream or watch movies or TV shows from the Apple TV app, iTunes Store, or third-party apps - Apple Support -- As you can see from this Apple Support article, the steps are very similar. If the steps provided by Netflix didn't resolve the issue, apply the steps here.
