iMessage waiting for activation

I have recently started a new contract with Sky Mobile moving from EE, I have chosen to move my old number with this contract too.


I have activated my new sim and my number has moved to the new phone but iMessage keeps saying “waiting for activation” and I can’t imessage off my number at all! Can anybody help?
