Stop Apple Wacth Timer from Disrupting Music

I have a pair of Powerbeats that I use to listen to Music while I stretch.

I use my Apple Watch's Timer app to alert me when it is time to move on.

Unfortunatly every time the timer goes off, not only does it stop my music, the music stays stopped even after I have stopped or restarted the timer.

I've tried muting the watch.

I've tried putting the watch into Do Not Disturb mode.

I've muted my iPhone.

Turned down the volume of alerts on my iPhone.

I just want the watch to vibrate when the timer goes off without stopping my music.

I don't have this problem with other earbuds. Just the Beats, though I have never tried Airpods.

It would be a shame and ironic if I had to leave the Apple ecosystem to get the functionality I need

.

Any thoughts?
