In Big Sur, how can I specify where I want downloads to go?

Your comment of They go to your downloadsfolder. at all. I think you meant to say They go to your downloads folder instead of They go to your downloadsfolder (downloadsfolder should be two words and not one word).

Your comment of You set the destination in whatever browser's preferences you use makes no since at all since it is not specific enough at all, like for example you don't tell woodbird25 where presences for Google Chrome, Firefox or Safari or Microsoft Edge is to be found and then where exactly under preferences you go to set the destination folder he/she/it/they want downloads to go to. Please be more specific with your comment next time.
You set the destination in whatever browser's preferences you use.
They go to your downloadsfolder. From there you can easily move them to another folder if you want to
In previous OS versions, I was able to set the default destinations, instead of having to always go to Downloads...
Thank you. I had not looked in Safari's Preferences -- only in System Prefs and Mail Prefs. That fixes my problem.
