Fitness app only works on wifi

My fitness app will only connect/communicate with my others when I’m on wifi. I’ve tried unpairing the watch, setting it up as a new watch and still no luck. Any suggestions?

Hi LBC-JD,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. From our understanding, your Apple Fitness+ App isn't communicating with your Apple Watch unless you are connected to Wi-Fi, do we have that right? What device are you using Apple Fitness + on? If you are using your iPhone or iPad with cellular, if you go to Settings > Cellular, is it turned on for Fitness +?

View or change cellular settings on iPhone

Hope that helps!
