Song timer in Music is gone???
With my recent upgrade to Big Sur I noticed immediately that the song timer in Music is no longer visible. I am referring to what was always shown at the top of the window as a song plays. You have the title, artist, and a slider showing progression as the song plays. At the ends of that slider one could always see the time advance on the left end, and remaining time left in the song on the right end.
I found that it becomes visible if you hover the cursor over that area, but that is not helpful. Even when it does appear, it is very, very faint, and does not stay there when the cursor is moved. I am a DJ on Internet Radio and use Music thru Audio Hijack to broadcast. It is important for me to monitor the ending of a song prior to talking, playing the next song, ending the show, etc. I cannot keep moving the cursor to that window as I am constantly moving it to my playlist, the broadcast software, and our chat room.
Why would such a long-time feature be eliminated???? In calling Apple I was told that I could click on the note icon at the top, and that would open up a separate window that does show the timer. However, that is not viable as I cannot access my library to add songs during the show for requests, or move songs around in the playlist during the show.
If someone has found a way to make that song timer appear in readable form and stay there, I would love to know how to do that. Otherwise, I hope other people who use this function complain to Apple and suggest they bring it back.
