Hi, Why I can's updatemy i phone 6 onto latest IOS 14?

Hi, Why I can't update my i phone 6 onto latest IOS 14? I am tryng to set up my mom's new apple watch with her I phone 6. It is keep saying the phone hasn't been updated. When I try to update it into the latest OIS it is keep saying error message.

The iPhone 6 is too old to accept iOS 14. The latest iOS version it may use is iOS 12.x.
