Icloud Login Error

I got my i pad from my mom. I created my own icloud logins. But there is an error message saying " an apple verification code is required to sign in. Type your password followed by the verification code shown on your other devices." But i dont have another device. What shoul i do?

The message is either that my password is incorrect (when I tested that it is correct !) or that I should enter a verification code, that I do receive in my others trusted devices, but there is no prompt to put this code in the devise at hand. Unable login in my IPad I have an IPad of model MB292LL but I am unable to login with my apple ID. After entering the ID & password it pops up the message "Type your password followed by the verification code shown on your other devices." Now where do I find the verification code.

Are you seeing an option, e.g. Didn't Get Code - Get a verification code and sign in with two-factor authentication - Apple Support?
