Debit card verification for Apple Wallet
Apple Wallet directed me to call my credit union to verify my identity before Wallet will setup my debit card. Even though I successfully verified my identity to my credit union with personal information and 2FA, they said they have to verify my identity for Apple Wallet. They asked me 5 questions "from public record" sources.
- One of the questions asked where does "Alexandra" live? My nephew dated an "Alex" for a few months, over 10 years ago. He's lived in different cities and I didn't know her. I don't currently know any other relative nor friend by that name.
- Another question asked in which 1 of the 4 listed counties had I lived? I've lived in 2 of those 4 counties but was only allowed to chose 1.
After the questions, the person said I failed verification. Now, if I want to use their bank cards in Wallet I have to send them a written letter with my request and copies of my drivers license or passport. Since I failed Apple Wallet verification they can no longer help me via phone, won't answer any other questions.
Because of the questions, I believe the "public record" information they are relying on may not be current or correct. But since the credit union won't tell me from where is this information gathered then I don't know how to look into the issue myself.
Where does Apple Wallet get the information it uses to verify customer identity?
How can I verify the information held about me is correct?
