New iMac won't let me add printers

I am the admin on my brand new iMac and I can access everything but adding stupid printers. Every time I try and add one it won't recognize my admin user name and password - which works for everything else .. what is going on?

iMac 21.5″, macOS 10.15

The Issue:

What's going on is that there is likely something misconfigured in the current user.

Create a Temporary Administrator:

See if you get this error when you use a net administrator. If you do not get this door (meaning, everything installs), then it is something misconfigured in the current user.

Boot Into Safe Mode:

[Hold Down: the shift key, upon boot], log in as the same user, wait 30 seconds, restart, and bootup as normal. See if it now works. In Same Mode, damaged files (ie.e caches), are fixed or deleted, if existent.
