Why are my chargers suddenly not fitting into my iPad?

It's the same charger that I've been using for my iPad 3, but suddenly, it won't go in, like the charger is too big. I've checked for debris, and I can't see any, and I've tried digging around regardless, but nothing is coming out. Everything looks normal.

iPad, iPadOS 14

If your cable will no longer connect to your iPad, the only possible explanations are:

1) a physical obstruction preventing the plug from being inserted (check for debris)

2) a damaged plug (use a different cable)

3) a damaged Lightning port (iPad required repair)

If (1) has already been eliminated, pursue (2) - substituting a known good cable/connector.
