Notification banners on MacBook not showing

I have noticed that the notification banners for both Imessage and FaceTime have stopped showing up in the notification center and no banners are being displayed. I have tested both by messaging and Facetiming myself. I receive no audible notification for either. No notification banners for either. I do show the notification badge for a missed Facetime but no badge for Imessages.

I have checked activity center and Notifications is running. My notification center is active in the right corner. I can see non Apple notifications and the missed Facetime calls but not the Imessages.

Anyone have any clue as to what to do? My OS was updated today and the computer was restarted.

If they are correct, and the issue persists, isolate with safe mode: How to use safe mode on your Mac

This article contains next steps if the issue does or does not continue.
