iPad order status

How long should it take to switch from processing to preparing to ship?

I ordered a 10.2 inch iPad Wi-Fi 128 gb - Space Gray with engraving last Dec. 18, 2020. Today is Jan. 8, 2021 and the status is still processing.

Questions about prepare to ship I have ordered and ipad three weeks before and it turns to prepare to ship on Tuesday. However, I have not seen the status change to shipped until Thursday. I am curious what happens since usually the status change within one day.

Ipad Pro 2021 I ordered a Ipad Pro 2021 11" on May 02. The status changed from Processing to "preparing to ship" last Friday, 5/21. It is now nearly 5 days later and the Ipad Pro STILL hasn't shipped.... For those that have received their Ipad Pros, how long did your Ipad stay in the "preparing to ship" status?

Every order situation may be different so offering you a timeframe would not be very useful, nor accurate. Only Apple can keep you apprised of the status of your order.
