We recently connected our Apple TV 4K to a Samsung smart TV from like 2015. The Apple TV worked perfectly fine on one of our other TVs but with this one the screen just turns black every five minutes or so and then resumes and it’s very frustrating. Anyone know how to fix this?
I have the same problem. Tried all of the above with no effect.
i realised that the screen goes black because the ATV keeps switching video modes. Especially between HDR and SDR mode. It doesn’t matter what video setting you configure. As soon as a HDR video mode is selected it happens that the ATV keeps switch HDR and SDR.
The only way to fix this temporary is to reboot the ATV. But after some time (hours or days) it starts switching again every few minutes. Samsung says this is an Apple issue. Apple says nothing...

There may be HDMI issues.
- Try disconnecting the HDMI cable on both ends, then re-connect, and try again. This will reset the HDMI connection.
- Try connecting to a different HDMI port.
- Try a different HDMI cable.
